Peoria is not only the heart of Illinois. Historically, it has been the heart of the United States. The old saying “If it plays in Peoria, it’ll play anywhere” continues to be held true time and again as our old industrial river town births inventors, creatives, and makers.

There were once many thriving printing companies scattered throughout Peoria’s warehouse district - when Technicraft opened it’s doors in 1969.

As America experienced a cultural revolution, printing experienced one of its own. The digital door was opened in the 80s and Technicraft stepped through it. Sadly, many of the old giants faded away for various reasons as Technicraft evolved into offering displays and fine art printing in addition to offering four-color printing to the many ad agencies around town.

In addition to offering premium printing services, Technicraft art store was opened. For years, art students and artists came through our doors to stock up on premium supplies and have their work framed. Many of our customers who come in today still remember the store because of the specialty items on display.

In the 90s, the time came for the art store to close so that we could focus on the explosion of wide format printing and other specialized services. Ad agencies began to taper off as businesses brought marketing departments in-house and so we went from supplying to the ad guys to becoming regulars inside the walls of corporate businesses, small businesses and residences. You likely have seen our work at an area hospital, manufacturer, restaurant, art gallery or at one of our installations in a friend or neighbors home.

Our work throughout the years is a rich tapestry of people and places all over our heartland region. And the glistening thread weaving it all together is the community of artists we have worked alongside for years.

Not many people get to see their work everywhere they go and we have been blessed to see the graphic endeavors of our shop for more than 50 years. We look forward to continuing to deliver high quality printing, framing and installation services in the the years to come.
